Invitation To A New Vision...
Let me ask you, what's your vision of the perfect church? I'm not talking about a building, but about people and how they connect with each other, the world around them, and to God.
For the past 6 months our leadership teams at Eastside have been praying, "God, what do you want Eastside's ministry to look like by the end of the year 2012?" The more we prayed the greater we sensed God's vision for us is not to create something new, but to recapture something old. . .to recapture the inside/out dynamic of the church we read about in the pages of scripture where they transformed the world one neighborhood at a time.
Hebrews 13:13-16 (Msg) says, "So let's go outside, where Jesus is, where the action is-not trying to be privileged insiders. . .This 'insider world' is not our home. . .Let's take our place outside with Jesus....Share what you have with others. God takes particular pleasure in acts of worship-a different kind of 'sacrifice'-that take place in kitchen and workplace and on the streets."
I want to invite you to join us for an inside/out adventure at Eastside and open yourself to God's activity in and through your life.
