The problems in the world are overwhelming. But when you invest in providing better nutrition, clean water, and education for a single child, you can have a significant impact on an entire community. Eastside supports child sponsorship in four countries: Haiti, India, Kenya and Mexico.

HAITI

Eastside supports Miriam Home, which serves special needs children who are, for the most part, orphaned or abandoned as the culture in Haiti sees those with disabilities as less than human. Miriam Home works to make the invisible, visible.

COST:
$300/month. Sponsorship can be paid in increments of $25. (One child can have as many as 12 sponsors.)
PROVIDES:
Food, housing, clothing, medical care and therapy, full-time care (by Eastside’s Courtney Pierce and Haitian workers) and education (including Bible, math, language or sign language, practical life skills, color association, art, geography and science).

INDIA

Eastside supports Children’s Village, which serves some of the nearly 32 million children in India who are homeless or destitute, including a special needs day school.

KENYA

Approximately 100,000 children live in the slums of the Mathare Valley in Kenya. Today more than 5,800 are sponsored and have the opportunity for a future through education, nutrition, medical care and a solid spiritual foundation.
COST:
$35/month for a child attending the day school
$70/month for a child living at the Joska Academy boarding school
PROVIDES:
Education, school supplies and uniforms, 2-3 meals a day, medical care, health workshops and counseling for their entire family, VBS, camps and more.

MEXICO

Eastside supports children at City of Refuge who are either orphans rescued from the streets of Tijuana, or children whose families can no longer provide for them. Eastside actually purchased the land and constructed the buildings, so this orphanage is close to our hearts.
COST:
$200/month. Sponsorship can be paid in increments of $50. (One child can have as many as 4 sponsors.)
PROVIDES:
Housing, food, clothing, clean water, medical care and education.
