Eastside's Mentoring Program
Robert Bly, who wrote "How To Be a Good Dad" states, "If you don't have an older man admiring you (he wants to see you succeed. He is not threatened by your abilities) you are being hurt in some fashion." Why? Because you don't have anyone cheering for you, admiring your abilities and who is there to help shape them. One of the greatest gifts an older man can give to a younger man is to walk up to him and put his arm on his shoulder and say, "I saw the moral stance you took, or the sacrifice you made, and I'm proud of you." "You're doing a good job."
