Men on a Mission
Since it’s inception in 1992 this team of men (and women) has traveled the globe offering their construction skills to literally “build up the Kingdom of God!” Affectionately dubbed “MOM,” this group of individuals raises their own support and sacrificially gives of their time and talents to travel every two years to a different field to put up a building for our missionaries. The team has traveled three times to Chile, twice to Thailand, once to Brazil and dozens of times to Mexico constructing churches, leadership training facilities and even an orphanage. While the faces and destinations change, the heart and the impact never do. As one member shared...
"I thought it was just going to be about swinging a hammer, something I knew I could do, giving me a chance to contribute and give something back to the Lord… but it was about so much more than that. It was about the people… and their gratitude was overwhelming. I really felt a part of something a lot bigger… it will stay with me for the rest of my life!"
Men on a Mission is open to Eastside members, 18 years of age and up. Whether you are an expert, or just someone willing to learn and follow directions… so long as you have a heart to serve and a willingness to work hard, we would love to have you join us. International teams are formed one year in advance of the project for preparation purposes. And while the international projects only happen every other year, numerous stateside opportunities exist in between. For more information, or to add your name to the distribution list so you can become aware of upcoming opportunities, contact Jeff Swaney in the Missions office at (714) 871-6844 X105, or by email at JSwaney@eastside.com.
