After a thorough process, our elders are recommending 2 new members for our Elder Board. Next is an important phase in which the congregation has 30 days to register any scriptural reason they know that any candidate is not qualified to serve by emailing email@example.com. Nominees will begin serving a three-year term in August.
Marsha Shanks and her husband Wyman came to Eastside in 1973. Their three children were all a part of Eastside and even met and married spouses from the church. Marsha was a meeting and event planner for many years and after retiring, spends time with family including her seven grandsons. She enjoys traveling and will make her fourth trip to Temoaya, Mexico this summer. Marsha enjoys serving at Eastside and has been a Change Maker in many different areas: Greeting, Children's Ministry, Small Group Leader, MOPS Mentor and Apples of Gold Mentor. The desire of her heart is to help young moms and wives become the women that God has called them to be.
Brad Burgner, along with his wife Debbie, joined Eastside Christian Church in 1984 shortly after finishing college and moving to California from Indiana. Their three sons accepted Christ at Eastside and are serving the Lord today in their home churches in San Diego, Goleta and Lubbock. Blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Brad and Debbie find themselves traveling often to spend time with their family. Brad has worked for a local general contractor for the last 32 years, currently serving as vice president of operations. Brad has served as a Change Maker at Eastside in a variety of ways including teaching children and adult classes, international missions trips, serving on a missions board, hosting and leading connection groups, and serving on the Elder board several terms beginning in 1997.
