After a thorough process, our elders are recommending 3 new members for our Elder Board. Next is an important phase in which the congregation has 30 days to register any scriptural reason they know that any candidate is not qualified to serve by emailing Nominees will begin serving a three-year term in August. 

Scott Rosner

Meet Scott Rosner!  Scott began attending Eastside 46 years ago, in 1971.  Over the years he has served in a variety of capacities across multiple ministries, including Next Gen, Small Group leadership, Global Compassion Beyond Borders trips, Parking Lot team, and our Guest Services team.

During his time here at Eastside, Scott has also served on the elder board (1996 - 2014) in several capacities from the finance board chairman, co-leading capital stewardship campaigns, as well as serving as the board chairman during the relocation to our Anaheim campus.  In addition to all the volunteer hours at Eastside, Scott has had a career that spans 30-years as a financial executive, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for CoolSys, Inc.

Scott met and married his wife Stephanie at Eastside, and together, they have raised their three kids here.  For Scott, Eastside is much more than a place, it’s family and it’s home.


Tim Ross

Tim was born in Valporaiso, IN in 1965.  His family moved to California in 1972 and he has lived in Orange County since that time.  He committed his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized in 1980.  He attended Edison High School and graduated in 1984 and then attented UC Irvine and graduated in 1988 with a BS in electrical engineering.  He met Barbara in 1985 and then married her in 1988 after college.  They lived in Brea and both went to work for Rockwell International in Downey, CA working on the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs.  Tim worked as a project engineer managing upgrades to the propulsion systems, navigation systems, life support systems, and thermal protection systems.  He enjoyed playing basketball on the weekends every Saturday morning with friends from college and also during the week after work in recreational leagues.  He and Barbara would also go to the beach many weekends to swim and surf.  He now works at the Boeing Anaheim campus as a team lead and subcontract manager. 

In 1997 He and Barbara had their first child, Kevin, and then had their second child, Stephanie, in 2000.  Tim and Barbara moved to Fullerton in 2000.  Tim and Barbara began attending Eastside in 2003 after attending North Orange Christian Church previously.  Tim began coaching his son's NJB basketball and AYSO soccer teams in 2005 and continued through 2011.  Tim enjoyed encouraging the young men to do their best, to learn how to work as a team, and to treat each other with kindness and respect.

In 2009 Tim began teaching in Kidside as a small group leader working with 5th grade boys following his wife's example.  Tim enrolled at Hope International University in 2010 in order to obtain a MA in Ministry.  He takes classes part time and thoroughly enjoys learning more about God and His kingdom.  He loves to teach children about God and how much God loves them.  He has a passion to know Christ, to love God, to serve God and His kingdom, and to tell others of the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Dr. Mary Jo Shaffer

Meet Dr. Mary Jo Shaffer!  Mary Jo has been attending Eastside since 1990.  Mary Jo is an obstetrician/gynecologist at Kaiser, and utilizes her medical expertise by volunteering at Eastside on our Medical Response Team.  Mary Jo has also traveled to Kenya with our Global Compassion team 6 times and leads a Small Group.  Mary Jo loves the Eastside family and the support that they have given her over the years and during the time when her late husband had been ill.  Mary Jo is a proud mother of 3 adult children (Janelle, Cole & Myles) and is excited for this next season at Eastside.
