At-Risk Kids

Youth who experience risk factors of poverty, drop-out rates, teen pregnancy, or drug/alcohol use that threaten their safety and healthy development.

Marginalized Families

Families, seniors, and veterans who go hungry, are homeless, live in motels/share living space with multiple families, or have escaped domestic violence. They are a key factor for at-risk kids.

Neighborhoods

Intentionally extending compassion by partnering with Anaheim to meet the needs of our own local community.

Education

Helping to fill the resource gap of teachers and support the educational needs of at-risk kids at local Title 1 schools.

What: If you'd like to find out more about foster parenting, Safe Families (temporary housing for children removed from their homes), or if you are currently a foster parent let us know! We'd love to partner with you in this journey and connect you with some great resources.

Higher Ground After school Enrichment for At Risk Kids

What: Help kids with homework or other activities after school through the organization Higher Ground which is geared toward mentoring low-income families at schools in Anaheim. 

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
Cause: Foster Youth
Who: Individuals 21 & over

What: Become a CASA for a child in the foster care system. For those who have a heart for foster children, but may not have the capacity in their homes, this is the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a foster child. A CASA provides a one-on-one stable, adult relationship for an abused child and independently monitors the child's circumstances in order to provide fact based information to the court in the best interest of the child. The CASA is the voice of the child to the court.

Human Trafficking Task Force Volunteer
Cause: Human Trafficking

What: Learn to identify human trafficking victims in your community, how to get victims help, how to support survivors, become a mentor, be an interpreter, provide transportation, teach a life skill and more. Varying levels of training required.

Employment Seminar for Foster Teens
Cause: Emancipated Foster Youth
Who: Everyone
When: Saturday 9/16 9a-3p
Where: South Orange County
What: The Network, a division of Teen Leadership Foundation, matches foster youth ages 15-22 with open entry-level employment and internship positions and vocational training in Southern California. The Network allows these young adults to earn a certificate qualifying them to immediate access to interviews from employers in TLF’s community by covering topics such as: Strength Finder, Resume Building, Mock Interviews a.nd tips, all addressed in one all-day seminar.

Rescue for Human Trafficking Survivor

What: Shop for items and assemble care packages for girls rescued from human trafficking.  These gifts will be given out by law enforcement officers rescuing them.  List given after signing up. Cost is $50-75/ bag.

Provide Dinner for Victims of Domestic Violence
Cause: Domestic Violence

What: Provide a meal and activity for the residents of the Sheepfold and their kids. Residents have been victims of domestic violence/abuse. 

The Courtyard Homeless Shelter
Cause: Homelessness
Who: Small Group Friendly, Family Friendly

Where: Santa Ana
What: After a brief training and screening, sign up to work a 3-4 hour shift any day of the week available. Volunteer your time on a weekly basis at this newly opened homeless shelter. Shifts are in the morning, afternoon or evening and days of the week vary depending on availability. 

Deliver Dinner to Families at CHOC
Cause: Families in Crisis
Who: Family Friendly, Small Group Friendly
When: Any night between 5:30pm & 6pm
Where: Orange County
What: Pick up and deliver a meal from a local restaurant to CHOC hospital to support families who have children who are hospital-bound. Meals are provided at no cost to you--transportation is the main need.

Volunteer at Bridges at Kraemer Place Homeless Shelter

What: Volunteers needed for this newly opened emergency shelter near our Eastside Anaheim campus. After a brief training and screening, sign up to work a 3-4 hour shift any day of the week available.

Provide Dinner or Childcare for Teen Moms at Fristers
Cause: Teen Pregnancy
Who: Connection Group Friendly
When: Varies
Where: Anaheim, La Habra, Santa Ana
What: Fristers gathers young moms to teach life skills, parenting, and offer support...all much needed after a young mom chooses to bravely parent. At the same time their children are cared for and given a preschool-like education. You can provide and serve a hot dinner (homecooked or store-bought) for one of their classes, or you can help with childcare.

Birthday Boxes for the Sheepfold

What: Birthdays can make us feel special and celebrated...or forgotten. Support the work of The Sheepfold by providing Birthday Boxes to allow moms recovering from domestic violence the opportunity of celebrating their child. Birthday Boxes are kits that include everything needed to throw a birthday party--from party decor to cake mix and candles. Instructions and list given after signing up.

What: Help at Renewable Farms, a local aquaponics farm (fish farming and plant farming combined) by gardening and learning this practical and healthy skill. Produce grown goes to families in need in our community.

Paint Fire Hydrants or Trash Cans in Local Anaheim Parks

What:Pick up a kit and choose a Saturday to clean up a park in partnership with the City of Anaheim. Sign up and then choose a date.
