FOSTER YOUTH

Support Foster Teens
Who: Small Group Friendly, Adults only
When: Mondays, Fridays around 5-8pm
Where: Orange County
What: Volunteer at an event that is hosted for 90 of the most at-risk youth in the OC foster care system put on thru Social Services. Sign up and we'll let you know about upcoming monthly events.

Donate Items to Soothe Foster Youth
Who: Family Friendly, Small Group Friendly
When: Anytime
Where: Orange County
What: Help Olive Crest establish a “lending library” of sensory items for foster families who do not have the funds for particular items, but do have need for them nonetheless. Items such as weighted blankets, sound machines, kinetic sand help soothe foster youth that have faced trauma. Specific books for foster youth/foster parents are also needed. Sign up and a list of needed items will be shared with you to choose from.

TRANSITIONAL LIVING

Help Alleviate Poverty at Giving Children Hope

What: Volunteer at Giving Children Hope (a local non-profit that helps alleviate poverty in our community) Mon-Fri between the hours of 9am-5pm with packing backpacks full of food for local low-income students and their families.

Pathways of Hope Shelter Turnover Team
Who: Small Group Friendly
When: Varies
Where: Fullerton
What: Help Pathways of Hope make space for more in their emergency shelter by being a part of the turnover team. This team would be called on whenever a unit or bed is needing to be cleaned up and reset to welcome a new individual experiencing homelessness off the street.

COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT

Volunteer at a Community Farm
Who: Family Friendly, Small Group Friendly
When: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays before dark
Where: Anaheim
What: Help at Renewable Farms, a local aquaponics farm (fish farming and plant farming combined) by gardening and learning this practical and healthy skill. Produce grown goes to families in need in our community.

Beautify Your Community Alongside Homeless Neighbors
Who: Connection Group Friendly
When: Daylight Hours
Where: Anaheim
What: Serve with A Better Way Anaheim either once per month, twice per month or once per week. The program matches up a few community volunteers alongside 5 vetted homeless individuals to complete a Love Anaheim project such as Park Beautification, Trash Can Painting, fire hydrant painting or various similar projects.

Deliver Treats to Local First Responders

What: Pick up a gift card or put together some goodies and write a kind note of thanks and encouragement and then deliver to a local firehouse or police station. Instructions will be sent to you after signing up.

Rescue Pack for Human Trafficking Survivor
Who: Family Friendly, Small Group Friendly
When: Flexible
Where: Any
What: Shop for items and assemble care packages for girls rescued from human trafficking. These gifts will be given out by law enforcement officers rescuing them. List given after signing up. Cost is $50-75/ bag.

Volunteer at Bridges Shelter

What: Volunteers needed for Bridges at Kraemer Place, a newly opened emergency shelter near our Eastside Anaheim campus. Sign up to work a 3-4 hour shift any day of the week available, or help with their Jobs for Life program.
